The Genesis Series was created to provide a dedicated platform for developing, showcasing, and elevating young performance horses within the sport of Cowboy Mounted Shooting. Our purpose is to encourage responsible training, early foundational development, and long-term soundness in future competition horses while offering riders a structured, rewarding pathway for bringing young equine athletes into the shooting arena. Through a Futurity and Derby format, we seek to grow the sport, strengthen horsemanship, and honor the true beginning—the genesis—of every great shooting horse. The series also exists to highlight rising equine talent, promote the trainers who build these horses, and increase visibility and value for stallions and breeding programs contributing to the future of our sport.

Every outstanding mounted shooting horse begins with a thoughtful foundation. The Genesis Series honors that beginning by offering a platform dedicated to 4-, 5-, and 6-year-old horses as they enter the sport. This provides a fair, age-appropriate pathway that protects young equine athletes while showcasing the skill, patience, and horsemanship required to develop a future champion. We strive to shape the next generation of equine partners who will carry riders safely and competitively for years to come.
